Poland

Well I can say that I have been to Poland. On my many journeys. I have visited this different and wild country more than once. You can't help yourself but feel you are in a country that has seen a lot of history and tough times. The people are amazing and so nice to most tourists. Although still showing signs of communism the country is blistering with European change. I Recommend a town called Krakow Poland, there is this amazing little market "The Cloth Hall"in the center of town. It was a cold and rainy day when I first visited the market, but this cold was soon changed into husssle and bussel of the market.

Places To Eat

Balsam

his Club/Bar/Restaurant is located in a old army barack in the direction of Warsaw-Airport, approx 15min taxi drive from downtown.

The atmoshpere is great and there are several choices of bars, restaurants, dance floors and a stage.

People are mostly around/+ 30 years. Reserve your table well ahead and grab somebody to translate you the polish-only menu.

Canmore, Alberta

Visiting Canmore Alberta is very dear to my heart. This is where I met a beautiful and talented Artist and now my Wife Trisha Todoruk. The town itself is very beautiful. I spent a lot of time walking the bow river and wondering around town, just putting in time. It is definitely a place I recommend everyone to visit. Canmore is a truly mystical and interesting place to visit.

Canmore Alberta Location

Enviable geographic placement positions Canmore, conveniently just West of Calgary, only 1.5 from Calgary’s International Airport, 5 minutes East of Banff National Park (20 minutes to the town site of Banff ), and virtually nestled into the northwest corner of Kananaskis Country, which is home to a multitude of Provincial (equivalent of state parks in the U.S.) and Wild-land Parks. Stand most anywhere in Canmore, turn around 360 degrees, and you will fully appreciate the term “Mountain” community.

Places To Eat

The Drake

The Drake Inn restaurant offers something for everyone. With two complete non-smoking rooms families can dine in comfort. A private banquet room offers a great space for groups to gather. The menu boasts a variety of Entrées including everything from pub fare to succulent chicken & ribs. In the summertime we have 2 large heated decks for cocktails under the sun. In the wintertime we have two large fireplaces for apres ski fun.

The Quarry
Owned and operated by the brother and sister team of David and Naomi Wyse, this family-run restaurant is located on the sunny side of Main Street. The restaurant features a pretty, street level patio and an interior décor that is both contemporary and comfortable. David's cooking is rooted in classic French and Italian provincial cuisine. Serving Lunch, Dinner and weekend Brunch, the quarry menu demonstrates his knowledge and love of local ingredients, which he combines with tradition to create a modern bistro fare. The quarry list of wines and beverages reflects the owners' passion for quality and excellent value. International wines are carefully chosen for their ability to please the palate as well as the budget.

Things to Do

The mountains are the the things to do: ski, hike, walk and view.

A Brand New Day

This is the first post of my new blog. This is very exciting for me. I have not been the type of person to share personal information and thoughts. My intention is to facilitate travel and facilitate travel ideas. Some of the best parts I have found when I traveled has been the education that I have done prior to leaving for the trip. The days of just getting on a train and arriving in a strange city and trying to figure out where to stay and eat are almost over. I now plan a little more that when i back packed Europe when I was younger.
